BED continues to get out into the community and would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about saving money by using less electricity and playing an impactful role in our collective effort to achieve our City’s Net Zero Energy (NZE) goal.
Earth Day Celebration
Last month, BED participated in the Church Street Marketplace Earth Day celebration. With our BED tent located across from City Hall and surrounded by our friends from Burlington City Arts, Fletcher Free Library, Local Motion, the Intervale, and others, we engaged in meaningful conversations with community members about steps each of us can take along the path toward NZE.
Customer Appreciation Nights at the Ballpark + Summervale
Team BED will be on the Centennial Field concourse on Thursday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 26 to cheer on our Vermont Lake Monsters as they face the Brockton Rox in both games. To show appreciation for our customers, we will provide expert energy advice before and during the game. Looking for ways to use less electricity during the hot summer months? Looking to electrify your car, mower, bike? Please visit our tent and we’ll talk about energy efficiency, electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps, rebates, and more. Remember: we helped Burlington’s favorite lake monster CHAMP retire his fossil-fuel burning four-wheeler and begin driving his electric golf cart; and we can help you too. Also, please join us at the Intervale for Summervale on Thursday, August 1, where we’ll also be available to field your energy questions.
3rd Annual Net Zero Energy Festival
A Supercharged Day of Family Fun! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 21, 2024 (rain date September 22), from 10:00am to 2:00pm at BED. To further our NZE progress, we’ll have activities for people of all ages focused on reducing fossil fuel use and electrifying everything, including: food trucks; DJ & live music; raffles; E-bike test rides; EV test-drives; mobile bike repair unit; bike parking; BED partners providing heat pump, solar, and electric lawn care products; carshare and biking partners; BED energy experts; and more!
Lineworker Appreciation Day
On April 18, we celebrated National Lineworker Appreciation Day. BED greatly appreciates the work of our lineworkers, rain, shine, or snow, to keep the lights on. As we electrify more of our heating and transportation needs with EVs and heat pumps, upgrading and maintaining our grid become even more critical, and we know our customers value reliability. Our lineworkers are out in the community, working to keep Burlington powered with 100 percent renewable electricity. To our lineworkers: we appreciate you every day!
