The team at Burlington Electric Department (BED) is delighted to share with you that we recently received approval from the Vermont Public Utility Commission (PUC) to make our Energy Assistance Program (EAP) a permanent program. The program allows BED to provide income-qualified customers with a 12.5 percent discount on energy and customer charges. As part of making this program permanent, we received PUC permission to automatically enroll eligible customers. If you are not yet enrolled in the EAP and have a household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level, we encourage you to apply for BED’s Energy Assistance Program using the form below.

Further, we encourage customers to learn about opportunities to save energy and money through efficiency measures by connecting with our Energy Services team for a free consultation.
